MAC

What one “must-have” item from your Spring/Summer 2012 collection will instantly update a man’s wardrobe? In the Summer of 2012 chino pants are indispensable in every wardrobe. Chinos in premium qualities such as tightly woven twill are must-haves. Authentic details and a carefully designed interior trim of the trousers will quickly convince customers.

How would you define your collection? Describe the MAC man. The MAC collection puts its emphasis on the premium casual segment. As a specialist in trousers our focus is always on the product, therefore, it is not surprising that high-quality materials, best workmanship, perfect fit and an individual design are our top priorities. The MAC man is active with an interest in fashion and can be convinced by high-quality and a perfect fit. Be it office or fun, the MAC man doesn’t compromise; Quality and design must be adequate in every condition of life.

What are you doing to address the growing importance of social media and how it will impact your business? For many customers the “merchant” is the brand. The branding of our product is to be made with and by our retail distributors who pass on the MAC-philosophy to the end-consumers. Today it is easy to present oneself on Facebook and find many “friends”, however, trousers are not a virtual friend; after all, a pair of trousers covers and touches 35% of our body surface. Therefore, more than just communication is necessary here as the product must be felt and experienced.

What do you think the next major shift in the menswear industry will be? In the future there will be a strong revival of stylistic awareness in the range of casual wear and denim. In the range of high-quality cotton fabrics trousers will gain in importance.

What do you consider to be the world’s best fashion city for men and why? I consider Milan to be the world’s best fashion city for men. Milan men are arguably the best dressed, most elegant men in the world. They take great pride in their appearance and have a certain swagger about them, a confidence that borders on arrogance.

From where do you draw inspiration? My inspiration comes from my two beautiful daughters. They empower me to dream, to soar, to reach beyond the farthest point on the horizon.

What would people be surprised to know about you? I was Miss St. Petersburg (Russia) 1991 and I have Master degrees in Math and Engineering.
