Since the date announcement of our Las Vegas shows we have received both retailer and exhibitor feedback on our published show hours. We thank you for your comments and have heard that a fine tuning will enhance your shopping experience.  As a result our new hours for MRketLV will be:

Tuesday, August 21st:  11:00am – 7:00pm with an opening day celebration.  Lunch will be served; and later in the day, the celebration will begin with an open bar and an extensive selection of hors d’oeuvres.  All buyers will be invited to network and continue to shop into the evening.

Wednesday, August 22^nd:  8:00am – 6:00pm

Thursday, August 23^rd:  8:00am – 4:00pm

MRketLV is answering the needs of retailers with tight show schedules by adding a late night cocktail reception the first day coupled with two days of early shopping (opening an hour earlier than most other shows taking place during market week).

We are at a crossroads. We have already outgrown our space at the Sands & Venetian and yet, there are many notable brands from around the world that want to join our shows. These are companies that will make our shows stronger and help us continue to draw even more important domestic and international retailers.

However, in order for us to acquire the additional space to further fortify our shows, we need to book more hotel guestrooms at the Venetian. As the hotel now has strict requirements for the number of guestroom nights a show must produce in order to secure their exhibit halls and to get more space, we must significantly grow our guestroom block. In short, we will only be able to help you continue to capitalize on the growing opportunities of the Las Vegas Market, if you and your associates stay at the hotel during market. As retailers walked MRketLV’s show floor all three days, it was apparent that they were ready to shop. With a strong start to each day, the aisles filled with retailers exploring the hottest menswear lines, getting to know the designers and developing new relationships.

In addition to the smart selection of men’s product on the show’s floor, Macko’s MRket Picks was the icing on the cake. The installations, created with the help of BKLYN Dry Goods, highlighted some of the season’s upcoming trends and directed attention to various lines on the floor.

Macko’s MRket Picks is an idea from Michael Macko, formerly of Details Magazine and Saks Fifth Avenue, which was born out of a career of attending trade shows and being overwhelmed by the amount of merchandise to walk through. He always wished that there was someplace where it could be “sorted” or “edited.” When he started working with the MRket Show, he was able to make that happen. Macko essentially lives with the merchandise during the shows and looks for some of the “gems” from the collections on the MRket show floor, whether it is a color, a fabric, or a classification.

According to Michael, these are not necessarily the hot trends of the season; it’s just great product. The success of Macko’s MRket Picks is indicated by the number of people photographing the displays and hearing from exhibitors that retailers are coming by their booths looking for the items on display. Being a place where people come to shop, these vignettes are fundamentally MRket’s “store windows.”

Macko’s MRket Picks will be partnering with BKLYN Dry Goods this season to create the vignettes in which the product lives. Michael Macko worked with Jahn Hall and Kurt Uhlendorf for several months coming up with the six exquisite environments and decided to name each vignette after the classic male archetype they embody. Exclusively created for MRketLV, these inspiring vignettes are not to be missed.
